The Eskadron Highgloss Pearls saddle pad from the Platinum 25 collection combines a glossy, dirt-repellent top fabric with a soft cotton waffle piqué underside. Anti-slip silicone, a triple girth attachment and the Innostrap system keep the saddle stable. For riders who want an eye-catching finish without giving up grip and comfort.
About this saddle pad
The Highgloss Pearls saddle pad is built from two very different layers, each with its own job. On top sits the highgloss polyester: hard-wearing, dirt-repellent and with a deep shine. That dirt-repellent quality is no detail. Dust and mud splashes stick to it less, so you can usually get the pad looking smart again with a brush or a damp cloth instead of having to wash it straight away.
On the underside lies a cotton waffle piqué. The waffle structure creates small air channels between the coat and the pad, so air can circulate and heat does not get trapped. Cotton also feels soft against the back. In between sits voluminous quilting that spreads the pressure of the saddle and absorbs shock, instead of passing the load straight through as a thin standard pad does.
Where this pad really stands out is stability. Anti-slip silicone is worked into the saddle zone: it holds the saddle in place and counters it sliding backwards over the smooth highgloss surface. The triple girth attachment keeps the pad itself centred, and the Innostrap system at the front lets you fix it to the saddle quickly and securely. That way you keep a glossy finish without losing the grip you are used to from a matt pad.
The finish is pronounced: a luxury binding with a cord and pearl combination, Platinum logos on both sides and a decorative back-band detail that accentuates the shape of the pad.
In use, that combination means you have an eye-catching pad you nonetheless do not have to spare. You put it on during training, brush it off afterwards and it looks smart again. On competition days that is an advantage: between two tests you rarely have time for more than a quick going-over. The four colours in the range, from classic to outspoken, also let you choose how much you want to stand out.
