The Schockemöhle Equitus Alpha Anatomical Special is an anatomical bridle in black leather, developed around the shape of the horse's head. The free-lying headpiece leaves the neck and ears free and the shaped noseband spreads pressure evenly. Made for riders who work with fine aids and who value a calm, relaxed contact.
About this bridle
Schockemöhle's Equitus line always starts from the same premise: a horse's head is not straight, and a bridle should follow that. The Alpha Anatomical Special is a pronounced example. Every part is shaped to the place where it lies, instead of being a straight strap that you fasten around the head.
That starts with the headpiece. It is free-lying and anatomically shaped, so the neck and ears keep their freedom of movement and no pressure is left behind the ears. You notice it most on horses that keep rubbing themselves or turn their head away when a classic bridle is put on. The fastening is made so that the headpiece keeps its place without pinching behind the ears.
The noseband is specially shaped and provides a soft, even spread of pressure. A shaped noseband rests on a larger surface and therefore stays quieter than a narrow, straight strap. For the horse that means less distraction at the head, and for you a more stable contact in which your aids come across more clearly.
The leather is soft and of high quality. It feels supple from the start and stays that way in daily use, provided you clean and grease it regularly. Leather like this breaks in nicely and moulds to the shape of the head over the first few weeks.
The look is plain and sporty: no eye-catching decoration, but a clean line. That makes it a logical bridle for dressage and for any discipline where you work with subtle aids and where a calm, well-turned-out overall picture counts.
